This course introduces you to the complete post-production sound workflow—from sound editing and design to re-recording mixing and final delivery. You will learn how these disciplines connect, where responsibilities overlap and how strong communication keeps projects moving efficiently. You will also explore the realities of post-production: limited time and budgets, demanding studio schedules, professional Pro Tools workflows and the critical decisions involved in repairing or replacing problematic recordings.
You will learn how to navigate the key stages, roles and handovers within post-production sound. You will develop the ability to recognise workflow risks, prioritise tasks and communicate realistic solutions to producers, supervisors and other collaborators. You will also build practical Pro Tools skills, organise professional sessions, use plug-ins with purpose and develop the critical listening and judgement needed to know when audio can be repaired—and when ADR or replacement is the better choice.
The course combines mentor-led demonstrations, industry case studies, critical listening sessions, group discussions and hands-on Pro Tools exercises. You will organise sessions, analyse post-production schedules, identify processing problems and practise dialogue repair using professional tools. Practical assignments and realistic production scenarios help you connect technical decisions with storytelling, budgets, deadlines and professional delivery expectations.
