From set to final mix
An intensive international programme in professional film sound, combining production sound, post-production, sound design and mixing through hands-on training with leading film sound professionals.
Dubrovnik + Online • Two Semesters • Limited Cohort
Film sound is a workflow. We teach it as one: from set to final mix, under the mentorship of Academy Award® winners and leading film sound professionals working at the highest level of the industry.
The Academy
The programme is built around the way the industry actually works. Participants develop technical skills, creative judgement and an understanding of how each stage of the sound department connects to the next, while working with current professional tools, workflows and emerging technologies.
Through a hybrid model combining online learning with intensive in-person training in Dubrovnik, FMSA prepares participants not only for the craft of film sound, but also for the professional realities of the industry — collaboration, communication, workflow management, international production standards and the business side of building a career in film sound.
The curriculum also explores how AI-assisted tools and new technologies are transforming sound production and post-production.
Small-group learning and direct access to experienced industry professionals create an environment in which participants do not simply study film sound — they learn how to work in it.
From production sound to final delivery, FMSA connects the entire film sound process.
Learn directly from Academy Award® winners and internationally recognised film sound professionals.
A limited cohort means closer mentorship, more feedback and more hands-on experience.
Explore the tools and technologies shaping the future of film sound and post-production.
Develop not only creative and technical skills, but also the professional judgement needed to work in the industry.
The FMSA curriculum follows the professional film sound workflow from beginning to end — connecting production sound, editorial, sound design, mixing, final delivery, AI-assisted tools and emerging technologies.
Each course focuses on a specific part of the process, while contributing to a broader understanding of what it takes to build a successful career in film sound.
